What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Operator position at SCOT FORGE?
2*nd* shift: Monday – Friday, 4:30 pm – 5:00 am (typically work 10 – 12 hour shifts)

Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC, lathe and vertical machine tools to make parts per engineering specifications.
- Requires some physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the job
- Interpret dimensions and tolerances of pieces to be machined.
- Plan and execute assignments using a variety of machine tools.
- Use precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work.
- Complete basic preventative maintenance on machines.
- Perform turning, drilling, grinding and stamping operations.
- Maintain production records and adhere to safety rules.
- Must be very comfortable working with large parts.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints.
- Demonstrating proficiency in machine shop mathematics, machine set-up, and machining procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to work standing for an 8 - 12 hour shift
- Ability to work in a safe manner observing safety practices; ability to lift up to 65 pounds when needed.
Preferred:
- Two years of CNC machining knowledge or comparable trade school training.
- Stable work history with long term positions held with a previous or current employer.
- Programming experience is desirable.
- Reading and understanding G&M codes.
Willing to train entry level candidates providing they demonstrate willingness to work and ability to learn new skills and grow with company.
