Job Description - Analyst, Government Finance
Role
The analyst will provide primary support to the NY Government Finance desk in its mandate to provide US Debt Capital Markets advice and execution of US Debt offerings in the SSA sector.
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring of SSA bond levels
- Maintain and update new issue models
- Write and publish market commentaries including economic summaries, new issue recommendations and deal reviews
- Liaise with Government Finance colleagues and trading desks
- Create market update and deal presentations for issuers
- Review term sheets, prospectuses and other deal-related documentation
- Update and maintain new issue database and client files
Skill set
- Solid understanding of bond and credit fundamentals
- Knowledge of debt capital markets and economic drivers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Bloomberg
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience in a debt capital markets role
Education
- Undergraduate degree in Business, with a Finance concentration
- Working towards CFA designation a plus
