Mission |
Designs and engineers ice making machines and related products to satisfy customer expectations for quality, reliability and cost. Executes schedules and development plans for major product improvements or new products.

Principle Activities
|
1. DESIGNS AND ENGINEERS assigned products, in a team effort with suppliers, manufacturing, service, marketing and finance to meet or exceed customer expectations for features, performance, quality, reliability and cost. PERFORMS CAD layout work to evaluate design options. 2. EXECUTES PLANS as developed by Project Lead Engineer or supervisor to complete all phases of product development, including drafting, bill of material creation and entry, prototype and pilot model building, and unit performance / reliability testing. 3. WRITES Engineering Change Requests to implement product improvements. PERFORMS CAD work as needed to rapidly implement product improvement ideas. 4. APPROVES OR REJECTS all Engineering Change Requests or Deviations for assigned product line within 24 hours of receipt. 5. DEVELOPS costed bills of material to assure project economic viability. 6. MAINTAINS project schedule. Follows the PDP in implementing the schedule. 7. INVESTIGATES warranty history on assigned products and implements corrective action as appropriate. Uses warranty history to design problems out of the current product development effort. 8. WRITES Engineering Specifications for all parts to be used in the new product or assigned product line. 9. WRITES Test Requests and designs tests, prior to test commencement, to prove performance and reliability of assigned product line, or new product design. Does same for competitive equipment. READS AND CLOSES all test requests at completion of testing. 10. PARTICIPATES in Engineering Department initiatives to increase productivity and thoroughness. 11. PARTICIPATES in Project Team and completes assignments as directed by the team. 12. DEVELOPS AND MONITORS project budgets to assure conformance to plan. |

Required Education/ Certification |
· BS Degree or · 8 years as designer or lab technician combined with 2 years of college. |
