Our Scripps Medical Laboratory is our system's core lab, servicing all sites and processing over 2.6 million tests annually. With a culture centered around teamwork, each laboratory site serves as a resource of support for each other, setting our laboratories as the benchmark for standardization. We have a unique opportunity to join the team as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). To be successful, the MLT will be detail oriented, proactive and confident working independently.
The MLT is responsible to the Laboratory Manager for ensuring his/her area of responsibility meets licensure/inspection requirements at all times, that all quality control is performed and documented according to policy and procedure, and that staff is properly trained. Duties include clerical tasks (including order processing, answering telephones and report/result generation and distribution), specimen collection, specimen processing, and specimen testing using manual techniques and automated instrumentation Contributes to co-worker performance evaluation and progressive discipline process as requested.
- Understanding of medical terminology, specimen collection, processing and testing techniques
- Current California Medical Laboratory Technician license
Preferred:
- Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
- Associate Science from an accredited university

Salary : $39,300 - $49,800
