What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician II position at Scripps Health?
As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. They enjoy a practice environment that offers state-of-the-art technology and innovative tools in a collaborative and supportive workplace. This Pharmacy Technician will be joining the tight-knit group at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.
As a Pharmacy Tech II you will be responsible for performing basic pharmacy technician duties including:
- Working under the supervision of registered pharmacists.
- Assisting with mentoring pharmacy technician I as assigned.
- Performing more advanced pharmacy technician duties that may include billing and/or IV Clean Room responsibilities based on site specific needs.
- May assist pharmacy management with administrative support duties
This is a Full Time (80 hours every two weeks) benefited position, working 8-hour varied shifts on variable days. Includes rotating weekends and holiday coverage, which may include nights. Located at Scripps Memorial Hospital - La Jolla.
Experience/Specialized Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current California Pharmacy Technician License.
- Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) required within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in current practice environment or in sterile compounding
- 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in any practice setting.
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
- 2 years' experience in relevant practice area is preferred
