Provide and assist DOE in modeling world class customer service to all business partners internal and external to the Scripps organization with a positive “can-do” attitude while sharing responsibility for broadcast operations including all video, audio and associated equipment while adhering to policies and procedures established by management. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Assist DOE and lead a culture of empathy, customer service and leadership. Back up the Dir, Engineering in the research, design, installation, and repair of all television, digital, OTT, Internet Systems, high power RF systems, production environments and all associated equipment using current platforms and protocols. Manage building facilities and grounds, including HVAC, power generation and security systems. Partner with the news department to develop, build and support content workflow and support systems including integration and problem-solving software, hardware, networking and infrastructure while keeping a collaborative environment between newsroom and production control staff. May manage a staff of professional and technical engineers, operators and IT technicians. Develop and grow staff in technology and Scripps culture to meet the on-going and future technological needs of the station while collaborating with DOE on staff career growth, assessment and scheduling. Monitor and enforce engineering procedures, regulation and policies as set by management. Assist in establishing and implementing policies and procedures. Update technical plan documentation is when installations are completed to include changes that are made, and all meet current industry standards and comply with company policies and expectations. Work with Dir, Engineering to determine current and future studio needs, assist with tracking of repair and maintenance budgets, evaluation of equipment solutions and capital planning. Keep the station compliant with the FCC Rules and Regulations, as well as related local, state, and federal regulations. Perform other duties as needed. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Associate degree in computer science, electrical or electronic engineering; or equivalent experience required. Bachelor degree preferred. At least 3 years broadcast operations experience required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Network or SBE certification preferred.
