Santa Cruz Valley Regional Hospital is located in beautiful Green Valley, Arizona, 25 miles south of Tucson. Pay Range: $13.00 to $ 15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Position Summary:
PT support staff position is responsible for receiving and responding to incoming telephone calls, emails and fax transmissions in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. It is expected that this position will verify insurance, benefits, obtain necessary authorizations, collect copayments, reconcile patient accounts appropriately, and manage the patient schedule. This position will offer support to therapists and be responsible for back office duties that are performed under supervision of the physical therapists and assistants.
Major Duties:
- Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls. Routes calls appropriately, offering voice mail, or redirection of calls as needed.
- Receives and responds to all emails and fax transmissions in a timely manner.
- Greets visitors and assists them as appropriate. Notify therapists patients have arrived, directs visitors to appropriate waiting areas, and appropriately and courteously screen solicitors for relevance to organization needs.
- Utilizes knowledge of insurance companies to verify insurance and benefits, obtain authorization and assist in referring patients for care as directed by the provider.
- Register patients in EMR, obtain all paperwork in evaluation packet, insurance cards, and photo identification. Enter these items into the EMR/Billing software in a timely manner.
- Explains financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required. Reconcile patient payments appropriately.
- Handle outpatient physical therapy medical record request per company policy.
- Preparing treatment area by cleaning therapy equipment and table after use.
- Assist patients and families out of clinic after treatment has been completed.
- Keep record of referral tracking, plan of care tracking and fax records.
- Fill out therapy support check lists for cleaning/inspection/temperatures.
- Other duties as assigned by clinic manager and or provider.
Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma/equivalent or graduation from a Medical Assisting program.
- One year of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.
- Healthcare provider CPR certification required.
