Program Assistant
This position is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures related to the support and supervision of Individuals. Program Assistants review documentation and collect data for reporting purposes. The position produces individual assessments, annual Individual Service Plans (ISP’s) and semi-annual ISP’s. Program Assistants also provide support to the management team as needed.
Essential Functions:
1. Provides a person-centered approach to program development and documentation
2. Assists in maintaining the program documentation in accordance with the Department of Development Services (“DDS’) guidelines
3. Collects data from Individual Daily Notes to produce annual ISP’s and semi-annual ISP’s
4. Maintains calendar of Individuals’ semi-annual and annual meeting dates and informs management of meeting dates
5. Creates initial assessments and updates all assessments, semi-annual and annual ISP’s
6. Maintains Individuals’ information regarding attendance, community integration activities, involvement in volunteer sites and education
7. Review Individuals’ Individual Daily Notes (ID Notes) and update the ID Note electronic template as needed
8. Maintains open lines of communication with Individuals and staff members
9. Attends all required trainings and staff meetings essential for the position
10. Maintains CIP Headquarters website, including any website-related assignments
11. Performs all other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Professional Experience/Education/Certifications:
1. Minimum High School graduate or GED equivalent required
2. Bachelor’s Degree or at least three (3) years of experience in a related field/subject and/or services preferred
3. At least two (2) years of relevant experience working with Individuals that have intellectual, developmental disabilities, or severe behavioral challenges, or dual diagnoses required
4. Experience in working in the administration of a special services program funded by the Regional Center preferred
5. Certified in Non-violent Crisis Prevention required or must successfully complete in-house training
6. Must have a current CPR and First Aid card or must successfully complete in-house training
7. Must have Direct Support Professional I and II Certification or must successfully complete state-provided training within twelve (12) months of hire
8. Completion of a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education units annually
9. Ability to speak, read, and write in English is required. The ability to speak Spanish is highly desired.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The work for this position is primarily conducted in the company’s office. This position has occasional community work, depending on the needs of the individuals. This position is expected to meet the needs of the business and the assigned individuals and staff in the community.
