What are the responsibilities and job description for the PM Precook Lead position at Seaboard Corporation?
SUMMARY: Precook Line Lead will provide day-to-day assistance to Department Supervisor with leadership and management of shift employees. As lead, will assist in establishing means and methods to insure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely and ensuring department expectations are met with adherence to company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Be able to speak effectively before customers and employees and write routine reports and/or correspondence. Bilingual is preferred.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and perform necessary calculations for completion of departmental paperwork.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Have the ability to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and sometimes push and/or pull up to 700 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extremely cold and/or extremely hot temperatures.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but sometimes very loud.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management, but could change at any given time.

- Set up line and equipment needed for production. Report any problems with equipment to supervisor or maintenance.
- Feed bacon into slicer, miscellaneous cleaning and trash removal.
- Ensure product is within correct specifications, stop production if it’s not correct.
- Ability to operate a forklift/pallet jack.
- In absence of supervisor, will direct, instruct and provide feedback to employees including communicating any changes in policies or procedures as needed.
- Ensure all new hires are trained properly and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly, and with the highest level of quality and ability.
- Coordinate all new employee activities and training relative to shift.
- Assists with the day-to-day leadership and management for production employees within department.
- In the absence of the supervisor, record employee hours, attendance, and notify supervisor of any concerns. Additionally ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
- Follow up with staff and on daily processes when and where assigned
- Perform personnel administration for paperwork, planning, and production analysis.

- Adhere to all safety procedures and hold others accountable.
- Ensure monitoring and prescribed checks of all operating equipment are carried out as required for proper operation.

- Understand, support and help implement/maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), Operating Policies, and Daily’s safety programs.

- Must be able to read, understand, and implement instructions listed on work order.
- Must understand, follow, and enforce all food safety guidelines.
- Must be able to successfully work alongside of and with production workers.
- Must have an excellent attendance record.
- Must be able to read and understand documents in English.
- Must not have any company disciplinary write ups within the past 12 months.
- High School diploma preferred.
