What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orientation Trainer position at Seaboard Foods?
JOB PURPOSE
In this highly impactful role, you will be a key member of the training department that works closely with the human resources team. The primary responsibilities of this position are the coordination, facilitation, and management of new employee orientation and all training activities for a workforce of over 2600 employees. Ensures all training courses/materials meet all Company policies for compliance with safety, food safety, and employment laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Company's learning management system.
- Assists with the development/review/presentation of all required training, including certifications.
- Responsible for all communication/correspondence regarding new employees to the operations team.
- Handles all discipline and HR responsibilities for new employees during the first two days of employment.
- Ensure all new employees are issued the required personal protective equipment and secure a locker.
- Schedules annual/quarterly required training certifications for all employees.
- Attends training sessions as needed to become a certified trainer in areas requiring specific certifications.
- Basic understanding of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Collaborates with management to assist with any departmental training requirements.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS
- Food processing experience required, preferably protein (pork and beef)
- Ability to speak comfortably and concisely to large groups.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite plus.
- English and Spanish required.
- Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in an office setting with minimal time on the production floor. While working on the production floor, the environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, and exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, and gases at low concentrations. The noise level in the work environment can be loud when in the production area, and hearing protection is required.
