Summary:
The driver assures the highest possible level of resident satisfaction by providing transportation services to the guests of the property. Routinely performs safe, courteous and timely operation of the vehicle to include following and abiding by the Company's Safe Driving Policy and all driving laws. Conducts daily inspections of the vehicle and performs necessary maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. Performs other maintenance, cleaning, and support duties to support optimum property appearance and efficiency
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Promotes positive guest relations by greeting guests in a pleasant and courteous manner; provides guest with information concerning routes and schedules.
- Operates the Association vehicles on schedule and on the designated route.
- Safely and courteously picks up and discharges guests; offers polite assistance to guests in entering and exiting the vehicle. Regulates heating, cooling, lighting, ventilating systems for guest comfort.
- Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining deices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
- Receives and responds to guest comments and suggestions and passes these to their manager.
- Advises their manager on safety and route improvements; reports accidents and hazards as necessary.
- Operate radio or similar device according to all vehicle laws and safety standards to communicate with base station to report disruption of service.
- Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
- Performs daily check of the vehicle and records results on the Daily Checklist to include checking and verifying the daily maintenance and safety features of the vehicle.
- Conducts pre-trip vehicle inspections; performs vehicle walk through and walk-arounds before and after each trip. Conducts inspections after each operation to note damage or defects including body damage, tires, radiator, lights, instruments, brakes, radio and other equipment. Informs their manager as needed on all safety and maintenance issues.
- Maintains a clean Association vehicle both inside and outside; removes trash after each trip. Secures and turns in articles found in the Association vehicle. Cleans the Association vehicles’ interior and exterior as needed.
- Follow dress and grooming standards and maintain a courteous and friendly attitude.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must possess a clean driving record and a current, valid drivers’ license
- Ability to safely operate motor vehicles with automatic and manual transmission
- Ability to safely operate all motor vehicles in reverse
- Able to work in various types of environments (indoor, outdoor, parking garage)
- Good verbal communication skills
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to operate communication equipment such as radios and walkie talkies
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Language Skills:
- The individual must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both orally and in writing.
Availability:
Regular business hours and overtime as needed.
