Overview:
We are a leading seafood wholesale and distribution company in the U.S. We are looking for a hardworking, motivated team player to join our team and help make a difference.
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for directing and controlling warehouse and transportation activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for distributing fresh and frozen inventory. Additionally, the Warehouse Manager will also manage the supply chain functions to ensure the prompt and accurate receiving and delivery of products. A successful Warehouse Manager will lead the team, organize, and direct operations and transportation activity to effectively manage and ensure all critical check points are covered and followed.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current and accurate
- Ensures products, are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner
- Ensures employees are following processes and procedures of warehouse activities such as production, inventory, receiving, transportation, and invoicing
- Prepares or reviews distribution documents for accuracy
- Screens and hires warehouse personnel and issues work assignments
- Controls costs through productivity of personnel, efficient utilization of storage space, and properly stored products
- Recommends warehouse/material handling equipment needs and replacements
- Responsible for enforcing company policies of conduct and safety and initiates disciplinary action
- Identifies the causes of product losses and takes corrective action
- Maintains accurate production records, including weight tracing information
- Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements
- Comply with OSHA safety and health rules
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to use the computer effectively including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel)
- Must have experience in running a food distribution center, hands on experience required
- Must be able to move into different areas of the operations to not only supervise, but also perform the task if necessary
- Must have Houston Food Handling Manager’s Certification
- HACCP, GMP, and SSOP experience required
- Experience working in a seafood, chicken, or similar processing facility is acceptable
- Experience managing warehouse employees and drivers
- Experience in working with outside vendors such as trucking companies or supply companies
- Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, shipping and receiving, production, and facility management
- Bilingual a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
