Position Summary:

Support phase appropriate method development, qualification and product characterization of antibody and antibody drug conjugates, with a high degree of independence. Advanced knowledge of chromatographic and electrophoretic separations with experience in troubleshooting instruments and method issues. Independently design, execute, analyze results, and draw conclusions for complex late phase product characterization efforts. Strong written and verbal communication with a high degree of organizational skills are a must. Display strong ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams including members from quality control, formulation, and external collaborators. Ability to successfully train new team members on existing methods and instrumentation. Attention to detail while sticking to timelines to achieve personal and program goals is highly desired.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Independence: Functions with a high degree of independence in daily work. Can design and interpret complex experiments with guidance. General understanding of project scope
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Provides experimental expertise and support to others on joint projects. Provides data and partial (co-) authorship on group reports. May mentor other employees or interns. May provide some direction to others
  • Communication: Written: drafts reports and technical documents with some guidance. Verbal: effective presentations that may incorporate the experimental data of others (with the contributors informed) with minimal guidance
  • Breadth of Knowledge: Demonstrated working knowledge in specific areas. Able to instruct and oversee others in immediate expert domains. Able to carry out prescribed work, analysis, and reduction to conclusions with minimal supervision. Somewhat reliant on others for advice outside areas of specific responsibility. Familiar with drug development process. Uses scientific literature for solutions
  • Sophistication: Designs and performs complex experiments that require significant insight into the problems being addressed. Presents and implements ideas or experiments to address scientific problems. Can explain the detail of the work and understands how it fits in to the bigger picture

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in analytical method development or biomolecular analysis/characterization in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry setting
  • Demonstrated experience and success working in cross-functional project teams, including matrixed reporting environments
  • Technical proficiency with chromatographic or electrophoretic separations
  • Proven ability to apply experimental data to advance project goals
  • Experienced preparing regulatory filings or technical reports supporting regulatory filings
  • Knowledge of antibody and antibody drug-conjugate biochemistry highly preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field

The hiring pay range for this position is $83,000 to $108,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
