The Land Planner IV is responsible for supporting the Team Leader with design efforts and prepare of preliminary cost estimates while managing multiple small projects and/or complex projects. This position is responsible for mentoring and directing work of Land Planners I-IV. In this position, the Land Planner IV will work to further develop public presentation skills, leadership techniques, enhancing technical specifications, and lead efforts to provide presentation material.

Essential Job Functions:

• Support Team Leader with design efforts
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates
• Manage small and complex projects
• Prepare construction details and specification
• Mentorship of Land Planners
• Prepare grading plans
• Build and establish relationship with regulatory agencies
• Meet with Clients to represent SW in a professional manner
• Provide redline sets of design drawings
• Attend and present at Public Agency meetings
• Assist in the development of contracts
• Continue education to broaden technical and management skills
• Preform construction observations and reports
• Conduct Pre-Bid and Pre-Construction meetings
• Continue education to broaden technical and management skills

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Education:  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture
• Experience: 5 years’ experience in a professional design office; must meet and exceed expectations of a Land Planner III

Desired Skills:

• Member of American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) or other Professional/ Community Organizations
• Working Knowledge of DRB, SCDOT, TRC and Other municipal submittal procedures and requirements.
• Proficient with master planning and all land usage types
• Ability of developmental regional planning
• Ability to identify problems in field
• Exceptional AutoCAD technical drawing and digital production skills
• Proficiency in 3D modelling and rendering skills (Lumion, Sketchup, or similar preferred)
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point
• Ability to mentor other Land Planners
• Proficiency in red line comments on projects
• Proficiency with time management to include meeting deadlines
• Proficiency with tracking personal project time while understanding profit and billable hours
