Position Summary:
The Seattle Kraken is looking for a creative and organized individual to join our Entertainment Experience & Production Team. This role will be responsible for maintaining our digital asset management system and act as the librarian and clearing house for metadata in and out of this system.
This role will also be the leader in getting organizational buy-in for the Digital Asset Management (DAM) success. They will focus on building and developing the processes and best practices for logging, tagging and storing digital assets for historical and editorial purposes, as well as establishing a scalable solution that will grow with the team. The role will work with both the production team and IT to develop discover and automate content lifecycle processes. Ideal candidates will be high energy, have a positive attitude and will bring creative solutions to challenging problems. This archivist should be knowledgeable of digital/media asset management solutions, metadata taxonomy, how to maintain a DAM, and how to maximize and expand the solution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the overall strategy implementation and workflow of the digital asset management solutions, including layout, user permissioning, content access, etc.
- Provide a service to the organization, fulfilling both internal and external content requests
- Create solutions for away game feeds and media acquisition to keep up with our content calendar
- Manage the DAM vendor relationships including awareness of latest roadmap items and advocating on behalf of the Seattle Kraken’s needs
- Supervise and coordinate cross-system integrations with internal and external development teams to ensure efficient and practical solutions
- Metadata and data governance. Determine and implement best practices. Refine metadata schemes and optimize searchability
- Manage content lifecycle including archiving, asset expiration, and migration
- Promote and create efficiencies to enhance automated tagging and content ingestion
- Audit system, to ensure content is processed properly
- Oversee the logging and manage creative assets including game highlights, production shoots and non-game events
- Represent the Kraken brand at industry events and video production conferences, as well as keeping up with industry trends and best practices
- Create a workflow/relationship with any local outside media companies that may capture CPA and Kraken footage and photos
- Build relationships with outside entities that have historical content relevant to the Facility, Team and Sport
- Train others in the operation, access, and utilization of the DAM system, support adoption of the system and gather user feedback
- Reporting and analytics on the content, usage, and users on the system. Identify metrics to determine success of system and share results with key stakeholders.
- Develop forward facing solutions for media outlets to access approved Kraken media
- Provide guidance on copyright and content approvals
- Maintain Frame.io relationship, folder structure and access
- Work with IT to maintain infrastructure that supports the DAM and content ecosystem
Game Day/Night Responsibilities May Include:
- Prepare Equipment for archiving at both Climate Pledge Arena and the Kraken Training Facility
- Confirm all footage (game, highlights, broadcast, b-roll, etc.) of the game night experience is logged and archived
- Assist with handling interviews and post-game media acquisition
- Support game night staff with any Production and Entertainment Experience as needed
- Help traffic completed content to its final destination
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience maintaining a DAM/MAM solution
- Strong technical acumen. Excellent knowledge of asset management solutions and best processes
- Experience working with IT teams and the agile life cycle, as well as a basic understanding of infrastructure as it relates to servers and file structures.
- Experience in defining and implementing taxonomical structures
- Excellent understanding of Transcoding solutions and understand Online/Offline editorial workflows
- Candidate should be familiar with Adobe CC and other ancillary creative tools as well as production workflows.
- Candidate should be nimble, calm under pressure, able to multi-task
- Strong strategic thinking, confidence, keen eye for detail, strong grammar and style Understanding of trafficking content
- Must be able to manage a fast-paced workload
- Highly collaborative as a member of a team of storytellers
- Experience working collaboratively and independently
- Candidate must be flexible in working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Ability to influence, inspire and motivate at all levels within the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an expert ability to present and communicate new ideas and concepts

- Must be a fierce communicator and cross-organizational collaborator
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- NHL Knowledge a plus
- Experience with IPV Curator and/or other DAM/MAM systems
- Management experience of small teams (loggers/assistants/etc.)
- Video editing and/or Motion Graphics experience a plus
Working Conditions:
- Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
- Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.

- In accordance with Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the expected salary range for this position is $65.5-85k. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
