Seattles Union Gospel Mission is inviting a PAID Behavioral Health Interns to join our Behavioral Health Team in Seattle, WA.

As a Behavioral Health Intern, you have the opportunity to be part of the solution to help our homeless neighbors living on the streets within King County. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing individual therapy and group therapy to Mission guests.
You must be enrolled in a graduate school that has an internship component to its curriculum, as well as the ability to commit to 20-24 hours a week for a minimum of 7 months.
What you'll do
- Provide individual and group therapy for Mission guests
- Facilitate specific groups based on skills, training and interest
- Maintain clinical documentation and other administrative tasks required for competent care
- Work closely with the Sr. Behavioral Health Counselor to complete all required clinical hours and supervision required by your graduate program within your internship
- Work with each guest and their care team, including case management, to ensure effective communication with client’s support systems and treatment team
- Attend weekly individual and group supervision meetings
- Attend wrap, focus, and staff meetings as scheduled
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field is required
- Enrolled in a master’s program in Psychology, Counseling or a related field is required
- Experience in social service organizations is highly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach. Frequently exposed to varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
