Job description
Seaway Printing, one of the fastest growing printing companies in the Midwest, is looking for a Press Helper to join our team on 1st shift. This helper position is the steppingstone to becoming an operator.
Press Helper Responsibilities:
- Ensure uninterrupted production while equipment is running
- Prepare and stage plates, paper, and materials for upcoming jobs in accordance to job tickets and work schedule
- Maintain ink fountains, blanket wash cassettes, and chemistry
- Perform assigned maintenance task in accordance with operations manuals of the press
- Tending plate setter
- Assisting in make-ready tasks
- Recycling used litho plates
- Observing and monitoring machine operations to detect malfunctions and to notify Press Operator when malfunctions occur
- Perform routine adjustments during the press run and maintain quality throughout the run
- Perform duties as assigned for shift start up and sift end, press cold start and press shut down
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Press Helper Responsibilities:
- Pass math and ruler test
- Pass problem-solving test
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Interpret and follow directions with precision
- Computer skills for job detail input and machine operation
- Excellent collaborative skills
