What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at SECO USA?
SECO USA is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated individual to take responsibility over day-to-day supply management activities. This includes materials planning and purchasing, as well as supplier management to ensure suppliers execute with respect to quality, on-time delivery and cost.
The successful candidate should be well organized with strong problem solving and documentation skills. The candidate will work in collaboration with multiple programs and departments, both domestically and internationally.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and place purchase orders, ensuring product is delivered on time and meets quality standards
- Vendor management, including new supplier sourcing
- Responsible for shipping/receiving and inventory management
- Aggregate project and bill of materials (BOM) data to analyze lead time and cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Report and communicate material planning status to internal stakeholders
- Identify part supply constraints that may impact production schedule and create mitigation plans
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with supply chain management
- Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills; detail oriented
- Proficient in Excel, creating formulas and presenting relevant data
- Ability to work on ITAR projects (US person)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP
- Experience working under ISO9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems, ITAR export controls.
- Knowledge of electronics or embedded systems, including experience with PCB vendors
- Understanding of contract structure, business terms and conditions
- US citizenship
