SECU is seeking a Financial Data Analyst with enterprise reporting experience. This position supports the accounting department with technical responsibilities including the creation/maintenance/execution of reports for data analytics, the call report, stress testing, the board package, and cash usage analysis. It also develops and maintains databases and dashboards used within the department. Collaborating with other functional areas of the accounting department and with other departments throughout the credit union, the Financial Data Analyst will assist in improving processes and pursuing increased efficiency through maximizing the technological capabilities of SECU systems, including the Workday Financial Management system and TIBCO WebFocus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or data analytics, information systems, business or related field, or commensurate work experience, required
- Minimum of (2) years of work experience in a data analytics and/or financial analysis role required
- Prior experience developing and executing queries and/or reporting for data sets required
- Attention to detail required
- Knowledge of financial analysis principles and practices
- Ability to demonstrate proficient technology skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Excel Pivot tables, Visual Basic, Access, SQL Query for data extracts and structured report development through the Microsoft Power Platform, TIBCO WebFocus or similar tools
- Ability and desire to learn and use analytical software such as Tableau, SAS, R, Python, or SQL
- Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions to make recommendations and communicate effectively with others in an understandable manner
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in actions and decision-making
- Ability to organize work effectively and follow through on work activities and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively with exacting deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and evolve with an ever-changing environment
- Experience in Workday reporting and Prism Analytics is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting with the development, execution and ongoing evolution of analytical solutions
- Mining/evaluating data and presenting results in a straightforward manner
- Analyzing large/complex data sets
- Creating and maintaining reports, including ad hoc reports
- Implementing and maintaining reporting procedures in accordance with policies
- Establishing and maintaining cyclical reporting and analysis to provide leadership with a clear understanding of key performance metrics
- Communicate and present reporting findings
- Prepares ad hoc financial analysis, as required
- Serve as a data steward by interpreting data to assist management with strategic decisions, creating business process flows and data mapping.
- Assist in identifying and documenting data quality issues, limitations and gaps that may exist
- Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions
- Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work
- Performs other duties as assigned
