What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Internship - Risk Management position at SECU?
SECU is currently looking for qualified college students to join our 2024 Summer Internship Program. As an Intern, you will have significant learning opportunities on day-to-day projects in specific departments within SECU, while gaining exposure to the credit union and banking industry. Our Summer Internship Program will run approximately 10 weeks, starting on Monday, June 3, 2024. The ideal candidate must be able to work 32 hours a week during core hours of Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00 pm. This position is mostly remote, but you will need to reside near to our Linthicum, Maryland office during the summer to attend internship program events.
We are seeking an intern for our Risk Management department. The Risk Management intern will:
- Complete Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Assessment project
- Track the receipt of risk assessment data from 30 leadership-level employees at SECU
- Review the risk assessment data for changes from 2023
- Elevate the changes to VP of ERM and work with VP of ERM to validate changes
- Complete the building of the Process Risk Assessment.
- Building the Process Risk Assessment
- ERM monitoring project
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:
- Must be a rising junior or senior currently enrolled in an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuing a degree with a focus in business, management, finance, economics or related major.
