Job Description:
The company, a leader in investment management, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Accountant to join our Studio Built division at our Cuero manufacturing facility. The Manufacturing Accountant will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing accounting processes and procedures within the Studio Built division, ensuring accurate tracking, reconciliation, analysis, and reporting of inventory and plant activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up master data in the shop floor system for vendors, customers, inventory items, families, and general ledger accounts.
Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) for production in the shop-floor system based on floor plans, including creation of kits/sub-assemblies.
Process manufacturing projects within the shop floor system, including budgeting, material analysis, and backflushing materials for each project.
Assist in developing Cabinet Shop production processes, including cut records, cabinet shop cabinets, and packages' bill of materials.
Manage sales orders, purchase orders, and inventory reporting and reconciliation between different Company funds.
Take ownership of inventory reporting and reconciliation requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax rules.
Approve shop floor inventory adjustments and capture Purchase Price Variances (PPV) in purchasing reports.
Reconcile month-end journal entries and generate journal entries for Goods Not Received.
Coordinate with plant operations for tracking and reporting rework raw materials, making required adjustments to financials and inventory records.
Develop weekly Inventory KPI reporting and labor tracking reporting.
Review standard costs for inventory reconciliation and production bill of material standard costing.
Assist in the implementation of ERP system requirements, including current shop floor system and future financial/ERP systems.
Contribute to plant physical inventories as required and provide ad hoc reporting and process documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
2 years of accounting experience.
Experience with non-integrated shop floor and financial systems.
Extremely strong Excel skills.
General accounting and reconciliation experience required.
Ability to work independently with initiative and a go-getter mentality.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products, especially Excel.
Proficiency with ERP systems (Magica & Yardy).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Information:
This position requires on-site presence in Cuero, Texas.
Must be available to work after hours and on weekends as necessary.
