Distinguishing Characteristics
Managerial-level, exempt position responsible for implementing the established local and global Security Program within. The work includes validating the security program compliance, investigate security deficiencies/violations, and to assure the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of security equipment and devices. The Account Manager also trains security personnel in correct procedures and use of security equipment. The incumbent monitors day-to-day security program operations, responds to emergent situations, and reports on policy compliance. Communicates relevant information to Security Management so that it can be acted upon in a timely manner.

Education/Experience: Must be 18 years of age or older. High School Diploma or GED Required. Associate's degree and 3 years of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. 1 year experience as a Security Supervisor required. Prior Military Preferred. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.

- Recommends an effective system of security controls, polices and procedures that will prevent or reduce criminal acts within an assigned area while providing safeguards to employees, customers and people using bank facilities and assets.
- Identifies risk at each assigned facility and provides results of evaluations to business unit management
- Monitors compliance with federal security regulations and Department of Homeland security policies and procedures.
- Develops, updates, and revises security training outlines and formats, and delivers hands-on training of branch personnel as needed.
- When a security incident occurs, assesses the seriousness, manages the resulting situation Branch Manager and client contacts (when necessary), and provides direct response.
- Assesses the overall incident and provides reports to Branch Manager and, Corporate Security management. This includes suggestions for action or changes in security processes. Additionally, the incumbent conducts investigations to determine causes of the incident and provides a written report
- Provides prompt coordination, consultation, and guidance on workplace violence, and high profile/high liability visitors and assets of The Atlanta VA Regional Office.
- Provides consultation and guidance in areas of robbery prevention, bomb threats, threats of violence, burglary, and other crimes.
- Develops and revises security training materials and contents to meet changing environments and technologies within the region and monitors the hands-on training received by branch personnel.
- Supervises the placement of covert surveillance equipment
- Arranges protections for assigned executives ensuring physical security standards are upheld.
- Maintains liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, regulators, vendors and industry peers.
- Serves as a key point of client contact to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service for assigned account; evaluates service quality and initiates any necessary corrective action in a timely manner.
- Meets regularly with client representatives for status updates; addresses any actual or potential problems; provides support during client start-up; supports security planning, assessments and surveys; reviews and updates post orders.
- Oversees, coordinates with line management, and participates in the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development and retention of high caliber staff; acts to ensure that each staff member is treated with dignity and respect; plans, assigns, and directs work; coaches employees and carries out disciplinary actions, as necessary.
- Assists in development and administration of budget in relation to assigned account.
- Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures; acts to ensure that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Within scope of client contract and assigned duties, authorizes appropriate expenditures including equipment, supplies, and vehicles; acts to ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and administers driver training; acts to ensure that there is an adequate inventory of uniforms, radios, and other supplies and equipment; maintains and submits payroll records and other associate and business information.
- Prepares and coordinates staffing schedules for account, in collaboration with line management as necessary; acts to ensure that scheduling is handled effectively to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs; reviews Security Officer site reports to verify post orders and client directives have been satisfactorily followed; personally inspects all posts as part the evaluation of security staff.
- Provides input to company initiatives; promptly assists in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues.
- Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned account.
