Position Details – Escrow Officer
The Escrow Officer is responsible for conducting real estate closings, ensuring each file is carefully prepared in time for the scheduled closing. Balancing final closing numbers, reviewing and understanding closing documents, notarizing executed documents, and disbursing the file are all duties of the of this role. Thorough communication, attention to detail, and strong customer service are key to success for this position. The following are examples of the day to day tasks of an Escrow Officer:
- Accurately manages the closing of residential real estate transactions.
- Provides mortgage holders with required tax documentation and escrow documents for filing tax returns.
- Reviews regulatory documents dealing with escrow issues and ensures completeness and legal compliance
- Accurately manages and calculates all financial matters surrounding each closing transaction.
- Protects customers’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Can close a minimum of 40 files per months
- Ensures all payoffs, recordings, and file disbursements are completed within the designated time frame.
- Markets to customers, which may include attending customer events both during and outside of normal business hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- The ability to obtain a State of Kansas Title Insurance License is required within your first 6 months of employment – the company will provide assistance if needed.
- 1-3 years of previous experience in title insurance, lending, or real estate is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word
- Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail
- Dependability, strong work ethic, and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast paced environment
