We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Finance to oversee all financial aspects of our operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with a deep understanding of the agricultural industry. They will be responsible for managing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, as well as providing strategic guidance to senior management. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and be eligible for a full benefits package.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (in a snap-shot):
- Manage financial functions, and strategy including cost and general accounting activities, product costing and capacity planning, and time studies.
- Develop and maintain financial strategies to support business objectives and drive growth.
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving profitability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and financial best practices.
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to optimize working capital.
- Oversee risk management and insurance activities.
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What we’d like you to bring to the opportunity:
- Education: Bachelor degree in accounting required. Advanced degree a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive accounting management experience
- We are seeking a candidate who can build relationships, has emotional awareness, and be able to collaborate with a diverse group of peers, colleagues and external stakeholders. You should be comfortable in the boardroom and “in the trenches” with your team to get the task at hand completed.
