What are the responsibilities and job description for the CABS Billing Administrator position at Segra?
Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced CABS Billing Administrator to work within our footprint in a remote capacity.
Role Overview:
The CABS [Carrier Access Billing System] Billing Administrator is responsible for bill cycle quality assurance/approval and trend analysis to include regular analysis of all billing data including Usage loads, Access Minutes of Use (MOU) and order review of special access, and direct trunks. The role is responsible for billing system database maintenance; rate changes, Voice over IP (VOIP) Percentage Interstate Usage (PIU) changes, billing routes and route ownership percentages as required due to business needs. This position is responsible for all accounts receivable duties in the CABS billing system such as payments, collections on past due invoices, dispute research and provide accurate reporting of all accounts receivable data. As an individual contributor, this role will provide support to team members in the completion of their tasks.
The CABS Billing Administrator must be meticulous in its independent verification of critical wholesale customer contract and order data validation functions to ensure sales reporting, commission and billing data is entirely accurate prior to release of the cycle. The CABS Billing Administrator will ensure data reflects the terms of signed customer contracts or ASRs prior to them being accepted into our order/provisioning systems. This position collaborates with various teams across the organization to track, resolve and revalidate all discrepancies found during the validation procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in billing or billing equivalent (ex: collections, service order, etc.) and/or equivalent experience in relevant areas.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in billing or billing equivalent (ex: collections, service order, etc.) and/or equivalent experience in relevant areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in technical or analytical field or a combination of education and experience.
- National Exchange Carrier Association (NECA) and CABS related training preferred.
- Prior experience in billing within Telecommunications.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills required.
- Must possess the ability to communicate, in writing and verbally, with both internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
- Must possess ability to independently identify and correct errors, plan and organize effectively to deliver high-quality results.
- Microsoft 365 applications skill required with high level of proficiency using Excel.
