SEI’s Investment Management Unit (IMU) has an opening for a Portfolio Strategist to play a key role as part of the Advice and Asset Allocation team, responsible for creating and maintaining asset allocation models for SEI’s client base. The objective of the team is to deliver diversified investment solutions that are optimized to meet various client investment objectives.
What you’ll do:
This role has the following core responsibilities:
› Contribute to the asset allocation research process for SEI’s investment strategies. Seek to maintain and improve diversification and efficiency of strategic portfolios.
› Manage analytical models and processes to support and inform the asset allocation decision-making process.
› Conduct regular reviews of strategies versus expectations and investment objectives; develop frameworks for assessing and communicating performance of investment strategies.
› Communicate research results within and outside the team. Work with colleagues and other teams to implement asset allocation recommendations.
› Keep up with developments in the capital markets and industry research; form qualitative investment and economic views.
› Respond to various requests from other teams within the Investment Management Unit and SEI’s market units.

› Bachelor’s Degree required
› A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience required
› Knowledge of financial and economic indicators/data sets; familiarity with information systems such as Bloomberg, Morningstar, etc.
› Strong interest in capital markets research and modeling; general knowledge cutting across all asset classes.
› Finance, mathematics, or economics background; Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
› Strong written and verbal communication skills.
› Strong capabilities in Excel.
› CFA designation or progress toward CFA designation preferred.
› Familiarity with different programming languages such as VBA, SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
