Position Overview

Responsible for providing credit analytic and portfolio management support to Commercial Loan Officers.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare thorough borrower analysis (including financial reports with explanations) along with spreading tax returns and financial information
  • Ensure adherence to sound analysis and lending practices and maintain compliance within the Commercial & Business Banking (CBB) policies, procedures, regulations, and other compliance obligations.
  • Analyze and assist in the interpretation of information related to borrowers and prospects (e.g., management/ business history, environmental issues, risks involved in industry, tax returns, financial statements, etc.).
  • Prepare various credit requests, including results of credit analysis and a summary of loan requirements.
  • Prepare credit reviews on applicable commercial loans (e.g., complete property inspections (upon request), spread annual financials, rent rolls, etc.).
  • Monitor, prepare, and review construction draws, budgets, and accounts receivables agings.
  • Ensure all customer files, documentation, and other paperwork are of the highest quality.
  • Interview and qualify members who request commercial and business banking services. May process commercial and business Visa, automobile, equipment, and smaller credit line applications to submit for approval.
  • Retain and deepen member relationships by assessing member needs and working with Commercial Loan Officers to identify and offer appropriate financial solutions to members.
  • Detect, act on, and report potentially fraudulent activity to protect the member and SELCO from losses.
  • Educate existing and potential members on SELCO products and services. Assist internal and external members to answer account-related questions and resolve problems.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, or successful completion of accounting courses within twelve (12) months of hire date;
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a financial institution; and
  • Must be bondable.

Physical Demands

While performing the job duties, approximately 95% of the time is spent working at a desk with the remaining time spent moving around work areas. Frequent communication occurs in person, through Microsoft Teams, over the phone, and in writing. This position requires the ability to view a computer screen and interpret printed materials and other documents. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and transport up to 10 pounds, and there is an occasional need to stoop, kneel, or reach to access documents, equipment, and supplies.

Interaction and Work Environment

Reports To: Commercial & Business Banking Leadership

Work areas are typically inside, in a climate-controlled environment with background noise, distractions, and frequent interruptions.

Material and Equipment Used

Computer, Scanner, Copier, Fax, Calculator/Ten-Key, Phone, General Office Supplies, and Webcam.
