A food company in Hayward specializing in pesto sauces and pastas for grocery stores and restaurants is looking for a QA Manager.
QA Managers utilize their knowledge in QA to keep the facility compliant with food safety laws and manage QA staff that ensure quality and food safety with the quality inspections.

Pay and Schedule Information:
- Pay: $90k-$110k/annually
- Schedule: 7 am-4 pm; Monday-Friday
Job Duties of the QA Manager:
- Lead quality team including QA Assistant Manager, Sr QA Technician, and QA Techs
- Administration of the QA department including filing, label printing, typing, data entry and issuing certificate of analysis
- Monitor control specs and standards for finished products produced at company facility
- Perform inspection tests on finished products and raw materials, such as Bostwick, pH, moisture, salt analysis, water activity, and sensory evaluation
- Perform microbiology tests on incoming raw materials and manufactured products
- Respond to questions or complaints regarding microbiology results
- Sanitation inspections, microbiology monitoring, and environmental analyses, i.e., swabbing
- Participate in finished goods hold/release system
- Assist in customer complaint resolution and communication
- Assist in the compliance with all appropriate third-party audits such as BRC
- Monitor controls and standards for ingredients and packaging used in production, including sampling
- Conduct training on company programs: Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, GMP, Sanitation, Allergen Control and all other programs affecting product safety, legality, regulatory compliance, and quality
