Controls Engineer

Selectek has an immediate need for a Controls Engineer in the Chattanooga, TN area. This is a permanent position but may start as temp to perm. Job description: The controls engineer will work in conjunction with the engineering department on designing and developing electrical circuit and controls logic. This job includes development time in the office, optimization and troubleshooting in the plant, and installation and support at customers sites throughout North America. Required: 5 years of technical experience and 3 years PLC and HMI programming in a related field Use of PLC programming software. (Automation Direct, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Siemens) Experience with machine commissioning and providing remote onsite support Experience setting up and maintaining common industrial networks Programming PLCs and HMIs Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems Ability to design/establish manufacturing processes Managing ability and skills to analyze problems Perform circuit diagnostics Ability to program AC Drives and Servos Ability to read and interpret technical drawings AutoCAD skills to design and draw electrical/controls schematics Available for up to 50% travel time throughout the year Preferred: Knowledge of Bosch Rexroth programming environment Assembly and production experience Ability to speak, write and communicate in French is a big plus Experience with 460V systems
•Will offer 3 weeks of vacation, company, and performance bonuses* Job order details: This job includes development time in the office, optimization and troubleshooting in the plant, and installation and support at customers sites throughout North America. They will do programming in-house, troubleshoot connections, onsite testing and then go to client site for commissioning. Travel sites will include mainly Southeast (NC, VA, TN), and they are normally going to plants that convert lumber into wood flooring. DL rate range: $35/hour - $50/hour Paid Hotel when traveling to customer site, company vehicle, daily per diem. They will never have to pay for anything out of pocket.
