What are the responsibilities and job description for the Beef Operations Member position at Sellard Farms?
BUCKLIN, KANSAS – Sellard Farms, a conception-to-consumption retained ownership cow/calf operation, is seeking a full-time beef operations member.
This position highly focuses on animal husbandry practices on a COW-CALF HERD/SMALL FEEDYARD operation that is using top genomic breeding practices, in-depth nutrition analysis, structured feeding plans for pastured cows during gestation to growers and finishers in Sellard Farm’s PRIVATE FEEDYARD. Extensive recordkeeping and communication abilities are crucial for maintaining this age and sourced verified operation as Sellard Farms’ beef is consistently within the top 25% US PREMIUM BEEF grade for quality and desirability.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
Competitive pay based on experience; $16-$22/hr*

PRIOR FARMING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED; and CLASS A Non-Commercial DL preferred or the ability to acquire one.
BUCKLIN is primarily a farming focused community located in southwest Kansas with a population of 750 and is an easy 27-mile drive southeast of Dodge City. The school is located within city limits and is a K-12 facility with a desirable student-to-teacher ratio. Bucklin has shopping and retail located throughout; businesses include a John Deere dealership, Dollar General, banks, hardware store, restaurants, flower shop/boutiques, auto/farm parts, tire/lube shop, automotive repair, welding, and local grain cooperative. There are 4 hospitals within a 35-mile radius with Fire and EMT Services located within Bucklin.
