Security Engineer

Job Description:
Must possess a working knowledge of information assurance, security engineering, security architectures, security management, security planning, security baseline development, and similar activities. Must be capable of performing security analysis; network and systems security assessments, security product evaluations; securing information systems; developing security, certification and accreditation documentation; certification testing; and other similar activities. A minimum of 5 years direct experience in Information Security is required. The security engineer also must meet the certification requirements for an IASAE-II position, per the latest versions of DoD 8570.01-M, the Army Information Assurance Training and Certification Best Business Practices. All personnel must complete all contract required training as defined by the customer within 30 calendar days of starting on the project, with any training required before arriving onsite identified.
Performance Requirements:

- The individual may be required to perform services at an off-site location, or at a designated U.S. Government facility within the Continental U.S. (CONUS)
- Perform compliance assessments via ACAS scan tools
- Maintain system eMASS accounts
- Review and provide comments to POA&Ms for issues such as non-applied IAVMs, hot fixes, patches, and System Center updates.
- Understand and validate correct implementation of STIGs via STIG checklists.
- Understand threats and vulnerabilities to improve system security.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Cyber Security or other IA/Technical related discipline. Two additional years of experience can be substituted for the degree.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance
- Must have a IAT III, IASAE II, or IAM II Certification.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a related position within the last 6 years.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in the development of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Certification and Accreditation plans (C&A)
- Experience in Host Based Security Systems (HBSS), training and experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability scanning and Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) tools.
- Experience preparing, processing, assessing, validating, and maintaining DIACAP and RMF packages using eMASS and/or XACTA tools.
