Primary Purpose

Manage public affairs, communications and stakeholder engagement plans in support of business goals; plan, implement, or coordinate public affairs programs for company projects and initiatives; communicate and present company information to stakeholders; support legislative advocacy; and monitor legislative trends.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the development and implemention of public affairs programs that include broad stakeholder enagement, communicate project information and initiatives; and coordinate external activities with other company departments (e.g. permitting, engineering).
- Support legislative advocacy programs and monitor legislative trends; develop strategies and tactics that align with business unit goals; assist in developing company positions; and assist in developing communications materials (e.g. fact sheets, presentations).
- Develop and lead public affairs programs in support of new business development, expansion projects and existing operations; and manage company sponsored events (e.g. landowner meetings, employee volunteer engagament, ceremonies).
- Present company and project information to key stakeholders, including elected officials, government agencies, community organizations, land owners and individuals; and serve as company spokesperson at events.
- Coordinate with third party public affairs consultant contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5%).
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, Law, or related field is preferred.
- 8 years of related professional experience is required.
- Advanced ability to communicate clearly to a wide variety of audiences.
- Exceptional communications and relationship-building skills to productively engage with other at varying levels of seniority both internally and externally.
- Ability to support and implement public and government affairs strategies and support business issue advocacy for projects and assets in the gulf states region.
- Develop appropriate positions and responses in conjunction with their client regions and with other affected departments within the company.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as the public and political face for local matters including making presentations, participating in news conferences, public hearings on issues, conferences and seminars.
- Assist Senior Manager and/or Director of External Affairs with state government affairs efforts.
- Collaborate with other internal groups/representative to ensure consistency of company policy positions at the local, state, federal and international levels.
- Travel up to 40% of the time.
