ABOUT THE ROLE 

Do you have a passion for supporting the mental health needs of diverse youth? So do we, and we’re hiring a like-minded clinician to join one of our close-knit school teams. 

 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Classroom Therapist who's dedicated to providing outstanding mental health, case management, and consultation services to grades 6-12 students at our Vallejo-based nonpublic school, Uprising Academy. As a Classroom Therapist, you’ll collaborate with Uprising Academy's knowledgable school staff to oversee therapeutic and case management services, conduct mental health assessments, and create/implement individual behavioral plans. Uprising Academy's Classroom Therapists continually grow in expertise around clinical issues in the classroom and find evidence-based and creative ways to foster a therapeutic milieu that solves these challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct therapy sessions with students and families 
  • Provide case management and social services 
  • Create and monitor students’ behavioral goals 
  • Oversee classroom behavioral interventions 
  • Monitor psychotropic medications 
  • Develop initial, individual, and family therapy contacts
  • Provide consultation to the education team 

Qualifications

REQUIRED 

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Family & Marriage Therapy, Counseling, or a related field 
  • Eligible to register with the California BBS 
  • TB test clearance, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster 

PREFERRED  

  • Experience working in a day-treatment center or residential facility

Schedule

  • Full-time, on-site 
  • School-based schedule, including the extended school year 
  • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and additional PTO during school breaks

Benefits

  • Starting at $63,400-$77,400 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
  • A $2000 salary increase upon completion of BBS hours and an additional $2000 salary increase upon licensure 
  • An additional $6000 per year for bilingual language abilities

    • Seneca supports clinicians toward licensure and beyond. We provide individual and group supervision, regular clinical case conferences, and licensure and renewal courses led by field experts. Expenses such as outside training or licensure fees can be mitigated through your clinical training stipend, and you will receive a $4000 salary increase upon getting licensed. Seneca’s Professional Development Scholarship awards employees with tuition reimbursement of up to $2500 each year for certifications in areas such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or Spanish for mental health practitioners.
