Activities/Programs Assistant

Core
responsibilities
Help the Director implement creative activities, outings
and programs that enrich our resident’s lives.
Help the Director to develop
newsletter content, flyers, activity calendars, one-pagers, and other
collateral material that support resident/family/staff awareness and
engagement.
Promote participation in activities and help foster
social connectedness between residents.
Learn the nuts and bolts of how to run a Program’s and
Activities Department (the most fun part of the community!)
Learn the programs/activities industry and best
practices in senior wellbeing and how the pieces of the puzzle fit
together.
Proactively establish and maintain effective working
relationships with all support roles at the community.
Other tasks, as assigned (sorry to sound so vague; we
all wear a lot of hats!)

skills
Insatiable appetite for learning – this is a COMPLEX
industry with a lot of moving parts -- what you learn in this job will set
you up for success!
An inquisitive mind -- the best people for this role
simply ask the best questions and genuinely want to help find optimal solutions
for residents!
Impeccable communication abilities – both written and
oral.
Outgoing personality – duh! You have to enjoy – truly
enjoy –interacting with people in all mediums (via e-mail, phone, and
face-to-face)
Resourcefulness – ability to work independently when
needed AND as a member of collaborative team
Above-average skills in the Microsoft Office Suite –
Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook
AM/PM 8:00-4:30
