What does the job involve?

Provide clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources department.  The position will be responsible for recruiting for open positions, preparing new start paperwork and maintaining the associated records.  Will be responsible for conducting new employee orientations and benefits open enrollment meetings.  The position is responsible for maintaining employee records in the HRIS.

  • Recruit for openings, screen resumes and schedule interviews. Prepare offer letters and maintain all necessary records.
  • Conduct background and drug screens. Prepare new hire paperwork, take and edit employee pictures and create badges.
  • Schedule and conduct new employee orientation meetings.
  • Schedule and conduct employee benefit meetings
  • Maintain personnel files and records in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Update and maintain HRIS system (new hires, employee changes, training etc)
  • Create and provide report from HRIS system as scheduled or requested.
  • Back-up workers compensation claim filing and administration
  • Conduct employee exit interview and complete termination process with exiting employees.
  • Provide administrative support to the human resources team
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of job related experience in human resources
  • Experience/knowledge of equipment, machines, tools, etc:Must be able to operate office equipment, computers, copiers and fax. 
  • Communication and Language skills: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees in the organization.
  • Mathematical skills: Intermediate mathematics skills.
  • Computer Skills: Must have an intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office products.
  • Reasoning ability: Requires ability to assess facts and develop conclusions
  • Certificates or Licenses: PHR preferred

Strong knowledge of hiring processes

Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations

Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion

Detail oriented

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication abilities

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Incumbent will be responsible for making day to day decisions related to the functions of the position.  Has good judgement to determine when a situation requires notification to higher level management.

Interacts internally with co-workers, managers and senior managers on a daily basis.  Responsible for assisting and support HR team members.
