What does the job involve?

We are currently seeking a full-time Inventory Clerk for 1st shift (6:30am -3:00pm) at our Kearny Mesa (San Diego, CA) location.

Prepares product or material and packs orders for shipment. Receives in shipments from outside suppliers including validating shipping information and unloading of trucks. Operates standard manual and automatic equipment. Package material or product and mark with appropriate identification per specification. Input transactions into material resource planning system. Participate in yearly inventory coordination and on-going cycle count program.

What will my responsibilities include?

• Prepare product or material and pack orders for shipment. Operate standard manual and automatic equipment. Package material or product and mark with appropriate identification per specification.
• Input transactions into material resource planning system, incoming receiving, load and unload trucks.
• Receive product and freight shipments as needed. Including validating in bound product orders, ensure in bound shipments are legitimate and unload in bound trucks as needed.
• Identify material with part number, revision and other information specified on the travelers. Method of marking is rubber stamp, electro-etch or tag according to specifications.
• Assemble, build & load cartons for shipment.
• Compare part & shipment identification information and counts, weights and measure items of outgoing shipments.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, dimensions and quantities and input into material resource planning system (MRP).
• Affix shipping labels on cartons identifying shipping information. Packages material or product into appropriate shipping container.
• Participate and help coordinate yearly inventory process. This may include working with multiple departments to establish timing, process and coordination of people to conduct inventory.
• Work with multiple departments to coordinate and facilitate cycle counting.
• Demonstrate ability to appear for work on time, work overtime, when necessary, follow directions from supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures.
• Work safely, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment.

What key skills and experience do I need?

• Previous experience in shipping a plus. Manufacturing industry experience preferred. Previous experience in material identification with rubber stamp and elctro etch, preferred.
• Computer office programs Microsoft Office. Must be detail oriented and strong team player attitude. Answer telephones.

What qualifications should I have?

Education:

• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Vocational in manufacturing assembly training a plus.

Experience:

• 6 – 12 months previous experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
• Previous experience in shipping a plus. Manufacturing industry experience preferred. Previous experience in material identification with rubber stamp and electro etch, preferred.
