Registered Nurse (PRN) Service Supervisor
Position Summary
Provides assessment and reassessment of clients for in-home aide services, companion, sitter and respite care services. Reviews the client’s general condition, monitoring progress and response to the services provided by the in-home caregiver, and updates to the plan of care as needed.
Verifies competencies of in-home caregivers, provides on-going training to in-home caregivers and reviews in-home caregivers’ performance.
Qualifications
Current, valid Registered Nurse License with the NC Board of Nursing
Must have a criminal background check and Health Registry Check.

Follows all standards for universal precautions, infection control, and agency policies when reporting to assignments.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Complete the initial assessment and create a plan of care for clients requiring in-home aide services.
2. Conduct competency verifications of in-home aide caregivers upon hire and thereafter as needed.
3. The service supervisor will follow DHSR licensure rules requirements for frequency of supervision. a) The service supervisor shall supervise an in-home caregiver providing in-home aide services by making a supervisory visit to each client’s place of residence every 90-days with or without the in-home caregiver’s presence, and annually, while the in-home caregiver is providing care to each client. b) The service supervisor shall supervise an in-home caregiver providing companion, sitter, or respite care by contacting the client receiving care every three months and by making a supervisory visit to each client’s place of residence at least every six months, with or without the in-home caregivers presence, and at least annually, while the in-home caregiver is in the home providing services to the client. c) The service supervisor shall document the supervisory visit which includes; date of visit, findings of visit, and signature. d) A supervisor conducting a supervisory visit for any in-home caregiver may simultaneously conduct the 90-day plan of care review.
