JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Medical Receptionist –
Job Summary: The person in this position will report to the Lead or Clinic Manager in Leads absence. Will perform their duties and the necessary functions as expected.
Job Duties:
This position is responsible for the following:
Checking in and checking out patients as they sign in at the reception areas and as they check out
Properly run eligibility from internet websites for the purpose of identifying patient health coverage
Adheres to the sliding fee program as per Policies and Procedures organizational processes
Adheres to answering phone calls as per Policies and Procedures organizational processes
Adheres to appointment scheduling using the MARS system as per Policies and Procedures organizational processes
Adheres to cash collection as per Policies and Procedures organizational processes
Adheres to daily referrals as per Policies and Procedures organizational processes
Adheres to billing practices as per Policies and Procedures organizational processes
Adheres to processing of Vaccine for Childers (VFC) versus private vaccines as per Policies and
Procedures organizational processes
In addition, the below are Expected Daily Duties:
- Take an adequate message
- Provide great customer service to all patients
- Provide great internal customer service with peers
- Effective communication skills as professionals with Providers and peers
- Follow HIPPA regulations on all patients at all times
- Present to work area, ready and able to perform job duties with a professional appearance, grooming and appropriate work attire
- Keep work areas well stocked
- Maintain cleanliness at all times at all work stations
- Ensure that bank bag is balanced at the end of each shift before leaving work station
- Ensure route slips are processed in a timely manner with minimal errors
- Ensure the completion of a new patient medical record
- Work independently with direction from Lead or Clinic Manager
- Be aware of working partner and lunch coverage – be present.
- Other duties as assigned

8) Must obtain a Valid California Driver’s License at all times to allow for traveling.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
1) Must have High school diploma or equivalent and/or have successfully completed and graduated from an Administrative Medical Assistant Program.
2) Must have had working experience dealing with the public for at least one year.
3) Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
