Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and agile Principal Bioinformatics scientist to develop pipelines and perform analyses on CRISPR gene editing datasets, primarily focusing on off-target mutation and rearrangement analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develop bioinformatics pipelines by integrating and extending existing bioinformatics and next-generation sequencing (NGS) tools
- Develop and run Python and R based pipelines in HPC environment in cloud.
- Interact effectively with cross-functional teams, including research, clinical and lab scientists to develop assay and computational capabilities in tandem
- Analyze and maintain human population scale genetic variant datasets
- Stay current with new bioinformatics analysis tools and software technologies,
Basic Qualifications
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field, or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of industry experience
- Strong bioinformatics skills in genomics, specifically involving NGS sequence analysis for amplicon, exome, and/or whole genome sequencing.
- Experience with a variety of programming languages. (preferably R, Python), and AWS cloud environment (EC2, S3, dockers, WDL/CWL etc.)
- Best-practice software development experience (e.g. git, unit testing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with the CRISPR technology and off-target assessment methods such as GUIDE-Seq and CIRCLE-Seq.
- Experience in developing visualization tools using RShiny or similar methodology
- Experience with statistical and/or machine learning methods
- Database management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $106,354.00 - $187,439.00 per year
