Job Posting for Scientist I, Analytical Sciences at Serán BioScience
Serán is searching for an entry level scientist or engineer to join our Analytical Team! With mentorship from senior team members, the analytical scientist will work in an interdisciplinary team to support the development of dosage forms for client projects. The ideal candidate has strong communication and collaboration skills to excel in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment. Experience with benchtop laboratory techniques is desired, but scientific curiosity and independent thinking are required for success.
\n- Independently learn, operate, and clean a wide range of processing equipment used to manufacture intermediates and finished oral solid dosage forms at bench through multiple kilogram scale
- Conduct formulation, process or analytical experiments following detailed protocols
- Document, analyze and summarize data from executed experiments or those conducted by others
- Work with senior scientists and engineers to develop experimental protocols and formulation/process strategies
- Present data and interpretations to internal team members and to clients
- Write technical documents and draft project development reports
- Assist with the tech transfer and manufacture of GMP clinical supplies
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with clients or collaborators and technical teams
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline OR High school diploma with at least two years of completed course work toward a Bachelor of Science degree and at least 3 years of pharmaceutical laboratory experience
- At least one year of experience working with clients or collaborators and technical teams
- Prolonged periods of standing and working in a laboratory or process development environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
