The Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be part of a dynamic team supporting major systems acquisition, research and engineering on behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon and Mark Center offices in nearby Arlington (Crystal City), Virginia (Hybrid Schedule). This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your active DoD Top-Secret with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Serco supports the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) and the Multi-Domain Joint Operations (MDJO). The mission of MDJO organization is to identify and transition technologies that close time-critical gaps in high-priority, multi-component warfighting missions. You will be part of a team responsible for highly consequential engagements with stakeholders impacting national security and the defense capabilities of the United States.
You will support the senior-executive Director for MDJO in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). You will work closely with customers and other Serco teams to deliver quality solutions, recognized by DoD and industry as outstanding contributions in engineering program and risk management across the Defense enterprise. In this role, you will:
- Provide subject-matter expertise in warfighting technologies and capabilities for JADC2.
- Deliver operational assessments and analysis to accelerate C2 capability development and delivery to the operational community
- Identify gaps in C2 doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership, personnel, facilities, and policy (DOTMLPF-P), concepts, technologies, and processes to enable JADC2
- Provide operational expertise to inform mission engineering studies, prototype development, experimentation, and global integrated wargaming
- Ensure capability development, prototyping, experimentation, and analytic initiatives adequately address priority JADC2 gaps in order to accelerate delivery of capability to the warfighter
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A U.S. citizenship
- An active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI (Sensitive Compartmentalized Information) clearance
- A Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Research; or a certificate from intermediate Professional Military Education
- At least 20 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with ongoing JADC2 efforts within the DoD
- Experience and expertise in at least two (2) or more of the following:
- Joint Force design
- Development and application, operational constraints, and concepts of operations
- Concepts of employment, development and execution of CCMD operational plans
- Threat tactics, responses, or logistics approaches
- The ability to travel 10%
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Advanced Battle Management System, Project Convergence, Project Overmatch, or Assault Breaker II
- The ability to develop high-quality, professional briefings and written reports to succinctly capture key issues DoD decision-makers
