Position Summary

As a key member in Analytical Development, you will be responsible for developing data pipelines to organize and analyze data across a wide variety of experimental platforms and functional areas. You will work closely with scientists and engineers in Analytical Development and Bioprocessing to find ways to automate data analysis for individual experiments and to combine data from multiple experiments to efficiently gain more insight about our processes and products.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to pioneer a new area in the Technical Development group at Seres. As Seres grows, the pipelines that this candidate develops will have a significant impact across many departments at Seres.

What You'll Do

• Computational analysis of raw data and meta data from assays in Technical Operations pipelines to inform on assay results, assay performance, and process performance.
• Computational analysis of genomic, transcriptomic and metabolomic data.
• Integration of key assays with a Laboratory Information Management System.
• Transformation of unstructured data from different sources into structured data for computational analysis.
• Visualize, summarize, and present results to stakeholders across the organization.

What You'll Bring

• Ph.D. with 2-5 years of experience or M.S. with 4-7 years of experience in Computer Science, Microbiome Research, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Metagenomics, Microbial Genomics, or related fields. Level is commensurate with experience.
• Direct experience working with teams of diverse backgrounds to solve technical challenges.
• Proficiency with statistical and/or scientific programming in R required. Additional experience with Python a strong plus.
• Familiarity analyzing -omics datasets is a plus. In particular, metabolomics, transcriptomics and genomics are of interest.
• Experience with Benchling or other LIMS systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with JMP is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities and commitment to delivering on team goals.
