What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Technician position at Serigraph?
**1st Shift Opening**
Our Graphic Technician prepares customer furnished files for printing and manufacture in our variety of print offerings. The Graphic Technician creates customer proofs and lays out the stepped formats to maximize stock and perform positive, quality checks before production. Additionally, uses their knowledge of materials, tolerance, and manufacturing operations to ensure quality parts are produced all the way through post print operations.
\n- Operate electronic and/or conventional equipment in accordance with customer and Serigraph specifications to produce printed materials.
- Ensure adherence to established quality standards and contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of processes and methods.
- Handle various processing chemicals, including acetone, film cleaner, and ink.
- Maintain individual productivity, efficiency, and adherence to operational deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all environmental practices, policies, and procedures for handling and disposing of materials.
- Support Serigraph's current quality business system and understand the use of SPECS.
- Practice recycling, energy conservation, waste reduction, and scrap minimization through effective process control.
- Prepare drawings/proofs using Esko software from customer prints, ensuring precise attention to tolerances, dimensions, and accommodating for material and post-printing operation distortions.
- Conduct positive quality checks, troubleshoot and make necessary file changes as required.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external customers to address and resolve technical issues.
- Operate and maintain prepress equipment and software efficiently.
- Proficient in implementing and maintaining Departmental and Company Safety practices
- Demonstrates a commitment to exemplary Housekeeping standards
- Adheres to proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Possesses a working knowledge of the Titan System
- Capable of interpreting and comprehending job tickets, blueprints, and customer drawings
- Skilled in operating electronic prepress equipment
- Exhibits excellent communication skills
- Displays proficiency in basic math and measurements
- Shows competency in understanding tolerances, dimensions, design principles, and printing operations
- Pays strong attention to quality and detail
- Preferred experience in AutoCAD, Esko, or Adobe software suites
- A 2-year technical degree or associate degree in Graphic Arts or an equivalent field is required.
- Preferred education in design engineering, mechanical design, or engineering technology.
