PURPOSE: The Paid Media Coordinator is responsible for providing developing and directing paid digital, print, TV, and radio campaigns to ensure adhesion to best practices and optimization of resources to reach organizational goals. The goal is to reach voters of color in-language and in key states to turnout to vote and elect leaders who will champion immigration reform.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Any one position may not include all of the specific duties and responsibilities listed. Examples provide a general summary of the work required and should not be treated as a total and complete list of expected duties to be performed by employees in the classification.)

  • Develops smart data-driven digital, print, radio advertising plans to meet goals of organizing campaigns, including visibility, growth, recruitment and lead generation across multiple concurrent channels and mediums including video, print, and radio.
  • Helps to manage a process that includes multivariate testing, reporting and iteration to maximize efficacy of advertising investments
  • Plans and works to implement ongoing outreach and nurturing efforts for leads, retargeting opportunities and segmented outreach campaigns in conjunction with organizers and the data department
  • Provide guidance to graphic designers and be able to develop your own effective creative and copy
  • Negotiate terms with advertising vendors, review and finalize contracts, approve invoices and ensure all advertising creative is compliant with ad policies and publication specifications and submitted to media outlets on time.
  • Review and monitor media buys - digging in on performance and settings in multiple ad platforms to make recommendations for adjustments to optimize results, produce reports
  • Research new advertising venues and stay abreast of online, print, and radio advertising trends
  • Provide thought-leadership in the use of paid digital, print, radio programs and the union’s development within that space, including implementing new technologies
  • Contribute to and help create a collaborative, respectful, inclusive, innovative and energetic team culture
  • Handle sensitive issues that require high-levels of confidentiality
  • Adhere to strict deadlines for completion of all assigned work
  • Ensures that all responsibilities are carried out with careful attention to equity and through use of a racial justice lens
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned in support of the program.

CONTACTS:

SEIU Executive Officers and various senior leaders; Division leadership and staff; Political, Community and Union leaders and staff; SEIU International staff, and employers. Must be able to represent the International Union with outside organizations utilizing independent judgment and the highest level of professionalism. Ensures that sophisticated choices are made about appropriate vendors and support services.

DIRECTION AND DECISION MAKING:

This position reports to the Communications Managers of the Immigrant Justice Campaign and must often work independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:A minimum of two (2) year of related work experience OR a combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Outstanding writing, verbal, and analytical communication skills;
  • Two (2) years of digital, print, radio advertising experience that includes leading paid advertising strategy and media planning for clients in an agency setting
  • Ability to select media outlets that best reach our target audiences
  • Develop and manage the request for proposal (RFP) process with media outlets, review and present media plans, assist in the evaluation of proposals, and help create a media schedule
  • Manage media contracts and coordinate signature process
  • Create, manage and lead trafficking efforts. Push all advertising creative through approval process and ensure all advertising creative is compliant with ad policies and publication specifications and submitted to media outlets on time.
  • Analyze advertising performance and conduct regular reviews of advertising campaigns with immigration team
  • Experience with geofencing and retargeting
  • A high level of judgment, ability to take initiative, make decisions in consultation with peers or higher-level managers and work independently;
  • Ability to work with diverse group of SEIU leaders, SEIU members, and staff in complex and political situations;
  • Ability to model consistently the vision and values of the union, passion for improving the lives of SEIU members and working people everywhere as well as our leadership standards;
  • Must be able to handle fast-paced, multiple, complex, projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work in this position will generally be performed in a remote setting. However, the job may require work in other settings conducive to performing the tasks required to complete assignments. Work outside of traditional business hours may be required.
