Summary
Our Technical Sales Representatives are assigned customers not associated with a local sales representative. This is mainly the local customer facility of a Pratt Strategic Accounts. Communication and follow up are key to becoming successful in this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct on-site visits at mutually agreed upon timeframes.
- TSR is the main link communicating customer concerns, issues, etc with the Pratt facility.
- TSR objective is to maintain the relationship.
- TSR investigates opportunities to improve the overall process:
- Improvements on how material is shipped
- Possible redesign material to improve run-ability or reduce cost
- Customer or Pratt line efficiency increase
- Works closely with CSR re:
- New items
- Overall customer activity
- TSR may join a local Sales Rep to review customer’s production lines.
- Support QA Manager in complaint resolution.
- Works closely with the production team.
- Project Manager.
- Accept lead role as Pratt Rep assisting customer with project activity
- Lead Pratt projects impacting customer
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as sales reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, training and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
- Ability to solve a variety of problems and deal with situations where limited information or standardization exists.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, and volumes.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
- Application knowledge and skill for computer data entry
- Quality standards – both ISO and QS
- Equipment used in an office operation and its capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the Service Manager role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.
- Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Five years outside selling experience or related experience and college course work
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to drive
- Able to load and unload samples from vehicle
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
- College degree, preferably in graphics or packaging.
- Experience in the corrugated box industry
Prefer background to include:
- Production experience
- Knowledge of quality standards
- Design knowledge
- Interaction with customer
