Job Description :
Respond to service calls as needed. Perform services as assigned, following SERVPRO® production guidelines. Communicate with the Reconstruction Manager to make sure all customer needs are met.
Support crew chief and other production personnel, as needed. Clean and maintain vehicles, equipment, and warehouse, as needed.
Responsibilities :
- Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance
- Prepare rooms / areas for work activities
- Set up staging area and equipment for each project
- Leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
- Perform production processes following SERVPRO® production guidelines per work order per crew chief directions
- Ensure clear two-way communication with crew chief and other technicians (especially regarding customer needs and concerns)
- Perform end-of-day / end-of-job cleanup and breakdown to leave job site with a clean and orderly appearance
- Understand and follow safety and risk management guidelines on the job site, in the office, and while traveling
Qualifications :
- Effective oral communication
- Experience in cleaning / restoration preferred
- High school diploma / GED
- Ability to travel locally
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
- Measuring, cutting and fitting drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings
- Positioning and securing drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs
- Cutting and installing metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
- Filling joints, holes and cracks with compound using a trowel and broad knife
- Smoothing out excess compound and sanding over dry compound
Working Conditions :
The standard work week for drywall installers and finishers is on average 40 hours (8 hours a day, 5 days a week). As with many careers in construction, there are peak periods that will require you to work overtime.
The number of additional hours you work each week depends on the construction sector and region you work in, and will vary from one job to the next.
As a Drywall Installer and Finisher, you will work mostly indoors, with some outdoor work. You may work alone or with other construction crew members.
The job is physically demanding you will be on your feet most of the time, working with heavy drywall sheets.
As with all careers in the construction industry, safety is the top priority. Drywall installers and finishers are educated to work safely and use equipment such as masks and safety goggles to protect themselves from dust.
Qualifications :
- Effective oral communication
- 1-2 years experience in Drywalling and refinishing
- High school diploma / GED
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
Physical and Work Environment Requirements :
- Exposure to chemicals
- Walking and standing for long periods of time, driving, sitting, climbing,
- Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights
- Ability to work in tight spaces (e.g., crawls spaces under buildings)
- Repetitive pushing / pulling / lifting / carrying objects
