The Research and Development department is paramount in the success of the business by formulating, testing, and analyzing the materials in its most organic compound and developing sustainable and/or the best materials for the final product suitable for residential and commercial use.

This position is a leadership role in polyurethane formulation chemistry, making coated samples, and testing these with necessary chemical and mechanical tests. We will rely heavily on the technical expertise of such chemistries and the resultant coatings created. Additionally, this role must keep the entire chemistry and formulation process from beginning to end in strict confidence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Plan and develop products and achieve cost-performance optimization for both existing and new products.

· Provide technical oversight and expertise as required.

· Oversee the entire development process of new products and programs within an organization, from the initial planning phase to implementation or production.

· Keep the entire development process of new, current, and old products confidential from the public and competitors. Only approved need to know individuals will have access to the process upon Owner’s written approval.

· Coordinate with other departments to exchange, update products information.

· Evaluation of competitors’ products to compare with company’s similar products.

· Assist in sourcing and evaluating new raw materials to ensure products conformity and competitiveness.

· Document all R&D procedures and reports and monitor implemented programs to ensure efficient use of resource.

· Solve problems with the use of chemistry, instrumentation, computers, and statistics, and interpret data while being able to communicate results to Owner.

• Strong knowledge of concrete, polymer coatings, pigments, vinyl, UV stabilizers, and other coatings and additives along with a familiarity of the lab and production-scale processing.
• Manage detailed, professional QC processes, from raw material intake to final product formulations.
• Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Follow laboratory SOPs to prepare and test samples using traditional laboratory technologies.
• Accurately interpret and record data in an organized, legible, and consistent manner.
• Verify lab equipment before use to ensure they are within acceptable limits.
• Perform special projects, as assigned.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of working experience and 3 years of relevant experience in R&D laboratory field
• Strong knowledge of construction chemicals including Polyurethane and/or Polyaspartic
• Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Able to interact professionally with colleagues and bring up concerns immediately when you are faced with them
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent laboratory troubleshooting skills
• Detail and accuracy oriented

Compensation:

$100k-$130k depending on experience, qualifications, skillsets
