Overview/ Job Responsibilities
The Web/SharePoint Consultant supporting U.S. Coast Guard’s USFORCECOM to assist the client with creating and maintaining SharePoint Intranet site to include updates to pages, lists, and libraries, SharePoint work flow and website presence and migrations.
LOCATION: On-site at USCG Facility in Yorktown, VA
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Web/SharePoint Consultant’s tasks would include the following Administrative Functions though not limited to the following:
- Provide day-to-day support services to maintain Coast Guard internet / intranet web and SharePoint services including creating and maintaining web-enabled databases and sites
- Install, configure, administer and maintain a collection of Coast Guard Web Servers, including test, development, staging, production, database servers, web servers and web authoring / managing software. Specific examples may include configuring and installing the web server software and its components, monitoring and interpreting server performance data, statistical analysis of web server activity, troubleshooting web server problems, installing and configuring the web authoring/management software, defining and maintaining an organized file structure, and maintaining security and assigning user access rights.
- Track and document all problems along with providing recommendations and resolution methods and submit weekly reports to the TPOC: US Coast Guard Force Readiness Command Performance, Training and Education Branch Non-Standard Information Technology Support Services
- Provide content navigation assessment, link analysis and comprehensive SharePoint and web site traffic and performance analysis via a browser-based reporting when requested by the TPOC.
- Assist Coast Guard personnel with updating and publishing products and services on Coast Guard sites including both static and dynamic pages.
- Develop and support the creation of static and dynamic HTML (hypertext markup language) including the use of Microsoft ASP.Net (.Net Active Server Page).
- Develop and integrate state of the art web applications technology, utilizing JAVA, Microsoft .NET Framework (to include ASP.Net), and Microsoft SQL Server and Apache Web Services.
- Configure new and existing sites and pages to ensure compliance with Section 508 / WCAG 2.0 requirements.
- Test and evaluate web authoring software packages and provide findings and recommendations to the TPOC.
- Assist in the administration of various SharePoint sites, maintaining and updating existing sites, setting up new sites, user groups, site permissions and access.
- Recommend to the TPOC, solutions to enhance various administrative functions in an office environment. Examples of enhancements are interactive calendars, online discussion groups, bulletin boards, phone directories, study and testing applications, and supply/procurement and work-order request management systems.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office technology (including Access, SharePoint Designer, Excel and Word) and shall produce documentation and reports using this technology as requested by the government.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field and 4 years of SharePoint experience; without a degree 4 additional years of experience in IT required:
- Proficiency in SharePoint 2010 & 2013
- Familiarity in SharePoint technologies such as Designer, SharePoint as a Service, workflow experience, out-of-the-box SharePoint, InfoPath 2007-2013 Proficient in all Microsoft programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Programming languages HTML 5, XML, CSS, Java, ASP.NET all very helpful to the success of this position
- Ability to perform requirements gathering and interpretation of client needs
Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance require
