Senior Contract/Subcontract Specialist

Overview:

We are looking for a Contracts Specialist  / Subcontracts Administrator to:

• Carry out pre-determined and recurring cradle to grave contract administration duties in direct support of a commercial organization supporting a US Federal Government client.
• Conduct contract planning, solicitation preparation, market research/analysis, source selection and administration of terms and conditions, cost/price analysis, negotiation, preparation of contract award and modifications, support the evaluation of sub-contractor performance, sub-contract termination, and sub-contract closeout.  

 
Responsibilities:
 

• Support the commercial company/customer through the full contract lifecycle from requirements definition through award and contract administration
• Monitor subcontractor performance in accordance with subcontract agreements and contracts in support of the commercial company/customer
• Provide contract process analysis and support change management as needed to improve efficiency and mature existing contracting and purchasing processes consistent with commercial and federal contracting processes.
• Provide process and contracting expertise in the area of developing and managing government contracts and subcontracts supporting government contracts, of all types, especially including cost reimbursement contract types.

Required Qualifications:  
 

• Bachelor's degree in business related field of study will be a foundational qualification;
• 10 - 15 years of contracting experience. At least 3 years’ supporting federal contracts or subcontracts
• Experience and knowledge of corporate/commercial contracting practices in direct support of government requirements and contracts
• Subcontractor or vendor management experience
• Experience within a corporate contracting, purchasing, or buying office supporting federal contracts that included Cost Reimbursement type contracts (CPFF, CPFP, CPAF, CPIF).
• Knowledge and exposure to cost reimbursement/cost sharing contracts and review of claims and equitable adjustments.  
• Ability to simultaneously manage, coordinate and pursue multiple, complex projects and activities.  
• Extensive knowledge of the FAR and/or associated FAR supplements.
• Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the evaluation of contract proposals and knowledge of laws, regulations, agency policy, precedent cases, and other requirements that affect acquisition.
• Must be proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.  

Desired Qualifications:  
 

• Masters of Science (in business field) or MBA
•  NCMA certification as CPCM.
