Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience preferred within low voltage systems design and/or construction.
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification, required.
- Deadline-oriented with exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to produce high quality documents, under the pressure of multiple deadlines and within a limited period.
- Demonstrate strong communication and writing skills in developing project correspondence, reports, and documentation.

- Extensive knowledge of low voltage system products and technologies to evaluate the requirements of a project and present the options to the client and assist with the selection of appropriate systems.
- Extensive knowledge of low voltage system equipment, products and materials as required to develop a sound and complete construction bid package of drawings and specifications for the bidding and implementation of low voltage systems.
- Extensive knowledge of the applicable building codes and standards for which the low voltage systems designed are to comply. When projects require compliance with unique standards that may be part of the clients' design criteria, the designer must have the ability to research and study these additional criteria and be capable of incorporating the requirements of the criteria into the design of the systems to the specific project.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in designing low voltage systems including nurse call, access control, CCTV surveillance, structured cabling, wireless network, intercom, and audio/visual systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive construction bid packages, incorporating thorough knowledge of low voltage systems equipment, products, and materials.
- Leverage extensive experience to evaluate project requirements and offer tailored solutions to clients, drawing from an understanding of available products and technologies.
- Utilize expertise in graphic representation to develop detailed floor plans, diagrams, and technical specifications for low voltage construction documents.
- Conduct site inspections and observations for work under construction to ensure construction compliance with design specifications.
- Serve as the lead on low voltage project, assuming project management responsibilities, serving as the primary liaison for the clients.
- Coordinate low voltage work scope with architectural, mechanical, and structural design aspects, whether in-house, out-of-house subconsultants and/or clients.
- Stay abreast of industry software advancements, adeptly utilizing tools for systems design and adapting to new technologies as needed to better serve our clients.
- Assist in preparation of contract documents using latest version of AutoCAD and/or Revit software to design and provide concepts for schematic design packages.
- Lead low voltage teams on select projects, providing guidance to junior engineers and designers in delivering project deliverables.
- Assist senior electrical engineers in the management of projects and client relationships, leveraging extensive experience to ensure project success.
- Mentor and develop junior electrical engineers and/or designers, fostering their growth and expertise in low voltage systems.
- Take a leadership role in establishing standards, policies, and strategies for low voltage systems.
- Attend project meetings alongside senior engineers or project managers to discuss work scopes and client requirements.
- Engage with clients to communicate design aspects, explore options, and align design solutions with project objectives and budgets.
- Develop an understanding of client needs and integrate them into project scopes to support client goals effectively.
